I was so disappointed that I was not able to be with you at church this past Sunday. A special thank you to George Yoder for coming on very short notice to share the WORD with us. Hopefuly, this coming Sunday we will be able to wrap our study of Galatians with a view of Chapter 6: Sowing and Reaping.
For all of you who memorized the verses in Galatians 1-5, CONGRATULATIONS! I am sorry I was not there to give you your gift card, but I will give them to you this coming Sunday. Here are the names of the kids who memorized all of the verses:
- Hannah Eby
- Kya Lambert
- Kora Lambert
- Kendra Lambert
- Kristiana Lambert
- Klara Lambert
- Seth Ranck
- Caleb Ranck
- Isaiah Ranck
- McKenzie Showalter
- Eliana Strite
If you would like to add a final verse so that you've memorized the theme of Galatians, I recommend the following for chapter 6:
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Good or God
On Friday evening, our first Good or God group launched. Tonight our second launches and tomorrow evening our third and fourth groups take off. If you have not yet joined one of the groups, there is still time. Even if you missed the first session, I encourage you to make time in your busy schedules for this important study.
John Bevere does an excellent job of drawing our attention to the ways we tend to live our Christianity with a "good enough" mentality. Generally, this is evidence of the fact that we have not fully experienced the genuine goodness of God and are not walking in the close relationship He has mapped out for us in Jesus.
You will be challenged and you will grow by being a part of one of these groups, and I invite you again if you haven't signed up yet, to consider being a part.
A reminder to continue your prayers for Chris Guy as he recovers from a heart attack on Sunday. Also, keep Chris and Elizabeth in your prayers as we pray for God to heal their marriage.
Also, remember to pray for Webb and Carol Hypes as they faithfully and lovingly care for Webb's mother, Nancy during her final days on this earth.
SPECIAL PRAYER NIGHT: April 24
You are invited to join in a special time of prayer Sunday evening, April 24 at 7:00 PM. Our focus is on hearing God, connecting with His Spirit and praying His prayers.
Come ready to worship, to pray, and to experience the presence of God as a church family. Everyone is invited. We expect our prayer time to last from 7:00 to 8:30.
Spread the word and come expecting.
