On Sunday, we looked at the Berean's who were known for being "more noble" and who searched the scriptures eagerly to discover if the message Paul brought was indeed the truth of God! When we look at the Berean believers, we need to ask ourselves. Are we, like those in Berea, open to thinking? The word for "eagerness" literally means, "forward mind". Ready to think! Willing to dig and discover what truth truly is. Remember, these were worshippers of God already, but Paul brought a word that brought light to what they already knew from the scriptures. Were they willing to dig deeper to discover that the Messiah actually WAS meant to suffer? The answer for the Bereans is, YES! They were not only willing, but they were EAGER to learn more and know God in deeper ways.
The "word" that they were eager to prove was the message of Jesus Christ! Jesus is the answer that we and all those around us are looking for. I wonder today how many times we've rejected more of Jesus because we have become set in our own traditions? Jesus told the Jews:
What does God want you to know about him today that you've not been willing to open up and think about? What more of Jesus can you discover if you'll eagerly pursue a deeper relationship with Him? I am confident that all of us have MORE to discover about and with Jesus. My prayer for you today is that you will open your heart and pursue JESUS with everything you have. He's waiting for you to come and know Him more each day.
Let's Keep Praying!
Don't forget to be praying for your IMPACT cards.
- Who is God calling you to "disciple" (show how to live with and for Jesus)
- Who is God calling you to build up in the faith? (Share WHAT to BELIEVE and how to LIVE your faith)
- Who is God calling you to INVITE to a relationship with Him? Invite to Church?
It will be our prayers that create the greatest IMPACT for God's glory!
