On Sunday, we were challenged to allow God to take our weaknesses and to use them to write His Story. (Click the image to listen online or download audio.) I wonder if you felt the pull as she talked about the weaknesses and shared the stories God has already written in His Story?
Perhaps you could identify with Philip, an unknown, who God chose to use for His Story. You may have identified with being in the “desert place”, wondering WHEN God is going to bring about HIS story in your life. Perhaps you wonder at the “crazy idea” God seems to have stirred within you. Or, you are one who has been waiting and working, wondering when God is going to release His glory for His Story through your life. Wherever you find yourself, know that God is at work. He can and He will use your weaknesses for His glory and His Story. Will you continue to trust him, waiting, watching, working until He accomplishes his purposes in and through you?
Remember, God has called us all to leave a lasting impact on our family, our city, our nation and the nations of the world. And, remember the words of Isaiah from Chapter 45, verses 2 and 3:
“I will go before you and make the rough places smooth; I will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden wealth of secret places, so that you may know that it is I, The LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.”
Let’s ALL continue to pray that we will be a church found faithful in discipling, strengthening the faith and expanding..
Here are a few ideas to help you remember to pray:
- Set a reminder on your phone for three times a day.
- Wear your armband as much as you can to remind you to pray.
- Pray every day at a set time in agreement with someone else.
- Spend a few minutes each morning/noon/evening praying with your family
The bottom line, as we pray, God is making the way for HIS name to be known all around us. Let’s make an IMPACT for HIM!
Our Last Week as New Life!
Next Week, June 1st, we officially embrace our new identity as River Oaks Church. William Zodhiates continues to work on our logo, and we are working on a new sign to place on the front of the building. Most importantly, we embrace the key scriptures and the realities of who we are as defined by being IN JESUS Christ.
May the RIVER of God flow in us and through us and may the Oaks of Righteousness be planted by that River, knowing what to believe and standing strong for generations to come.
We look forward to the new season as River Oaks Church.
