On Sunday evening the elders met for our monthly prayer time. These are times when we enjoy sharing, listening, praying and connecting with one another and God. As we shared, we were drawn the to truth that all of us come to times, to seasons in our life where we need others to hold us up and help us find hope. As we spent time sharing and listening the following passages seemed to bring us to the beauty of hope in God. I hope you will find them encouraging, especially if you are finding yourself in a place of the need for hope and light.
But you’ll welcome us with open arms when we run for cover to you. Let the party last all night! Stand guard over our celebration. You are famous, God , for welcoming God-seekers, for decking us out in delight. Psalm 5:11-12 (MSG)
My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken. My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken. On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah. Psalm 62:1-2, 5-8 (NASB)
But You, O L ord , are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head. I was crying to the L ord with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah. I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the L ord sustains me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about. Psalm 3:3-6 (NASB)
We pray for a blessed and hope-filled year for all of you in 2014.
