Sunday's Sermon Review

On Sunday, we tried to glean from Hezekiah's powerful prayer. Hezekiah, who according to 2 Kings 18:5, "trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel, so that there was none like him among all the kings of Judah after him, nor among those who were before him." (My emphasis added) That Hezekiah, found out that his life was coming to an end. Tragic news since he still didn't have a son to carry on the line of David. We saw that Hezekiah did three things in his prayer:

  1. He turned away from the news, the bad news, and he turned immediately to God in prayer.
  2. He reminded God of all the ways he had tried to serve him.
  3. He wept bitterly.

And the Bible tells us that God heard his prayer and added 15 years to his life. Not only that, but as a sign to Hezekiah that the healing would be complete, God reversed the motion of the shadow ... the shadow moved back instead of forward. And the world was changed.

What are you asking God for? What are you facing? What in your world needs to change? Turn to God in Prayer!
